Every single year, all of the biggest video game developers and publishers gather in L.A. for one week to celebrate E3, a convention where all of the latest games get revealed. If you haven’t heard of it, but you love video games, you’re missing out – the number of awesome video games announced by companies like Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Bethesda, EA, Ubisoft, Square Enix, Capcom, and more, is simply astonishing!
Of course, keeping up with every single new video game announcement or company livestream is next to impossible, but never fear, Geekstore is here! We’ll be sharing every major new announcement and trailer right here on our blog, so that our fellow gaming fans can keep up-to-date without any hassle.
So, without further ado, here are the major reveals you don’t want to miss out on from Day 1!
Perhaps the biggest news from Electronic Arts this year is a new trailer and extra details on Anthem!
Coming from Bioware, the team behind the beloved Mass Effect sci-fi franchise, Anthem is an online multiplayer action-RPG title, similar to games like Destiny.
In this exciting new series from EA, you fight savage beasts and ruthless marauders while exploring a beautiful open-world, sci-fi setting. Check out the brand new trailer above, and get pumped for the game to launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on February 22, 2019.
With Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds all the rage at the moment, it’s no surprise that EA’s flagship shooter series is joining the Battle Royale mode fray!
Set during World War II, Battlefield V is going to be the ultimate game for multiplayer online action, but if that’s not your thing, there will also be a stellar single-player campaign mode to get through too!
The game launches for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 19, 2018. We can’t wait!
Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order
This one’s so new, we know very little about it so far, but who isn’t excited by a brand new Star Wars game?
Titled Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, this game will take place between Episode III and Episode IV of the film series, when the Jedi are being hunted to extinction by the Empire.
With a Holiday 2019 launch date, and developed by the team behind Titanfall, there’s a lot to be excited for with this one. We cannot wait for more details!
With the World Cup upon us, there’s no better time for EA to reveal the next instalment of their annualised FIFA games!
For FIFA fans, this is shaping up to be the best entry yet, with the addition of the UEFA Champions League mode – as well as the return of all your favourite modes and Ultimate Team, of course.
FIFA 19 is due to release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 28.
The adorable Yarny returns in all his woolly, loveable cuteness. The first Unravel game was a sleeper hit, proving to be a touching, enjoyable platforming adventure game, and this sequel looks to up the ante.
Now featuring double the number of Yarnys, Unravel 2 features a seamless co-op mode – and best of all, the game is available right now for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One!
Team up with Yarny in Unravel Two as you chase the spark of adventure. Form new bonds with friends in seamless local co-op, or create two Yarnys of your own and explore a blossoming world.
Sea of Solitude
Trust EA to pull out another exciting title out of their EA Original label!
Sea of Solitude’s reveal trailer looks truly beautiful, with the premise being that humans transform into monsters when they become too lonely. I have a feeling this is going to be quite the emotional rollercoaster!
It’s due to launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019.
Command and Conquer: Rivals
When it comes to strategy games, there’s one series that stands above the rest, and that’s Command & Conquer.
We were fortunate enough to have EA reveal this brand new entry in the real-time strategy series, which brings intense, competitive 1v1 matches to the small screen.
You can pre-register for the game on the Google Play Store right now!
We don’t know much beyond this epic reveal trailer, but the legendary Halo franchise coming back with Halo Infinite!
Coming soon to the Xbox One and Windows PC, we’re excited to see what’s in store for Master Chief in this next chapter.
Gears of War
Microsoft went Gears of War mad this year, with not one but three new video game reveals!
Gears Tactics is a real-time strategy game based on the beloved franchise, and Gears POP! is an intriguing mobile game that combines both Gears and Funko POP figurines into one crazy title.
Most importantly, of course, was the reveal of Gears of War 5! Coming to the Xbox One and Windows PC in 2019, it promises to be the biggest and best game in the series yet – and judging by the new trailer, we’re willing to believe it!
It doesn’t get any more surprising than a new Battletoads game!
If you remember the original decades-old title, you probably remember infuriating difficulty, and we expect no less of a challenge from this new game.
We don’t know much about it yet, but it’s coming to the Xbox One next year, and we are very excited for it!
Naruto. One Piece. Dragon Ball. Death Note.
All of the biggest names in anime are coming together to duke it out in Jump Force, a new crossover title from Bandai Namco.
If you’ve ever wanted to see Luffy take on Light Yagami, or Goku take on Naruto, then this is the game for you. It launches next year, and we’re hoping we get to see some more adrenaline-pumping footage soon!
From the team behind the huge The Witcher series, Cyberpunk 2077 may just be one of the biggest games for 2019.
A role-playing game set in a dark, but vividly coloured future, Cyberpunk 2077 is ready to set the world ablaze. We can’t wait for CD PROJEKT RED’s upcoming game, and after seeing this new trailer, hopefully you’ll be just as excited too!
Just Cause 4
When it comes to open-world sandbox game, they don’t get much more fun than Just Cause.
Square Enix were kind enough to reveal the next instalment of their massively successful Just Cause series, and its new trailer showcases exactly the kind of explosive action we’ve come to expect. The game launches on December 4 – just in time for Christmas!
Devil May Cry 5
The Devil May Cry series is one of the most intense action series on the market, and this reveal trailer for Devil May Cry from Capcom looks no different.
Revealed a decade after the last numbered instalment launched, DMC 5 has you fighting the demon spawn as hell as Nero, and it looks like the beloved platinum-haired Dante may also be seeing a return.
This is already easily right at the top of our wishlist!
The Division 2
We received our first look at The Division 2 from Ubisoft, a game we’ve been eagerly anticipating ever since the first game launched!
This time, Tom Clancy’s The Division is set in Washington, D.C., and we fully expect to see the same exciting online multiplayer action that we received from the first game.
It launches on March 15, 2019, so it could be one of the first big games to look out for next year!
Forza Horizon 4
There’s no driving experience quite like the Forza series, and when it comes to pure open-world fun, the Horizon series trumps them all.
With over 450 cars, and set in the historic landscapes of the UK (home to Geekstore, no less!), Forza Horizon 4 is one of the most fun – and visually stunning – upcoming titles.
It’s launching on October 2 of this year, so get your engines ready!
The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit
Set in the same universe as the fantastic narrative-driven game Life is Strange, Captain Universe was revealed by the always-excellent Square Enix.
You play as a superhero-obsessed kid, and what’s more, the game will be entirely free – yes, really!
It’s coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on June 26. Definitely worth checking out for that price tag!
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
A brand new game revealed by its publisher Activision, Sekiro has a lot going for it: a gothic setting, action-packed, gameplay, and brutal difficulty.
Oh, and did we mention that it’s developed by FromSoftware, the team behind Dark Souls and Bloodborne?
We’re going to go out on a limb here and say that this could trump all of their past games – and considering how excellent those are, that’s saying quite a lot!
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
Following on from the award-winning Ori and the Blind Forest, this gorgeous trailer says it all.
Exotic worlds, an amazing adventure, and challenging puzzles and platforming abound – we truly cannot wait for the next chapter of Ori’s story, coming to the Xbox One and Windows 10 in 2019.
It doesn’t get any bigger and better than Fallout – that’s why Geekstore have supported it with so much awesome merchandise!
Fallout 76 is the next game is the open-world franchise, and this time it takes place in West Virginia, with a map 4x the size of Fallout 4!
This instalment will be more online-integrated than previous entries, and acts as a prequel to all the previous entries. We’re very excited to learn more about the early days of the Wasteland when Fallout 76 launches on November 14 this year!
The Elder Scrolls
The Elder Scrolls Legends card game is getting a visual overhaul, The Elder Scrolls Online is getting some werewolf-based extra content, The Elder Scrolls: Blade is a fully-fledged upcoming mobile game, and there’s even a new Skyrim function for Amazon’s Alexa devices.
The really big news is the best news, of course – the highly-anticipated sequel to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is on its way! It’s just named The Elder Scrolls VI for now, but this short teaser trailer is enough to make us faint!
You may or may not have played the first game, but that’s okay – everything you need is right here in the sequel!
This brightly-coloured, action-packed trailer shows us everything we need to be fully on board with Bethesda’s latest open-world shooter.
It’s coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019 – get pumped!
The DOOM reboot is one of the greatest first-person shooters of all time – period. That’s why we couldn’t be more excited to see DOOM 2 officially unveiled!
Promising new demons, new weapons, new abilities, and more awesomeness, we can’t wait to rip and tear our way through more demons!
The creators of The Elder Scrolls and Fallout are working on their first brand new franchise in over 25 years – and it’s going to be epic!
We don’t know much yet, but it’ll be a space epic, and if it’s anything like Fallout but set in space, we honestly couldn’t have it any sooner.
All that epicnness wasn’t quite enough for Bethesda – they wanted to pull out their awesome first-person shooter series Wolfenstein out of the bag too!
You can play either on your own or with a partner, and judging by past Wolfenstein games, we’re set for something truly incredible. Let your friends know now, because it launches next year!
